This garden renovation presented the challenges of planting an interesting selection of plants that complimented the strong house color and were suited for living under the shade and needle drop from a large existing redwood. Some of the old plantings had succumbed to oak root fungus so we added resistant, tough shade woodland perennials and shrubs that gave color and brightness through their foliage, creating a lush look with low water needs. |
