This long narrow El Cerrito lot needed privacy screening, a large seating area for al fresco dining and a cozy place to retreat with a book and a cup of tea. We designed and installed a large Connecticut bluestone patio and surrounded it with drought tolerant plantings in shades of rust, apricot, and cool blues that echo the flagstones' warm and cool tones. We planted a mixed-shrub border using different colors and textures of foliage to create privacy without a walled-in feel. |
