Fiddlehead Gardenswas founded by Mya Kesler and Paige Witte in 2001 with the mission of creating inspiring gardens that are in harmony with their surroundings. In 2009, Racheal Perry, a crew member and fine gardener for Fiddlehead Gardens took an ownership role in the company. Together, with our seasoned crew , we continue to craft gardens that inspire.

The gardens we create and maintain take into account environmental factors (drought), integrated pest management (no chemicals or pesticides) and the resources in the latest in plant availability to create harmonious landscapes that complement your lifestyle and fit your budget. We use our expertise to translate your ideas into a personal garden that reflects your aesthetic and needs for the space. Our crew is professional, respectful and efficient and have good attention to detail.

Mya grew up working summers as an organic farmer during high school, and went on to earn a BS in plant biology from University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. After completing an internship studying plant physiology at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Washington D.C., she attended Duke University in Durham, North Carolina where she earned a double Master's degree in Forestry and Environmental Management. After moving to the Bay Area, she has worked as a landscaper with Carolyn Atherton Gardens and also with Gardens and Gables in Marin before starting Fiddlehead Gardens in 2001(formerly named Green Girl Gardens).

Racheal studied Sociology at Brandies University and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1994. Until 1999, Racheal owned and operated a small Floral Design business that specialized in elegant floral designs inspired by her passion for gardening. In 2003 she began gardening with Fiddlehead Gardens and volunteering in the garden restoration project at Alcatraz Island. Intrigued by the ever changing seasons of the garden along with the challenges of gardening in the microclimates of the Bay Area she has come to appreciate the challenge and rewards that each garden offers.
